AusCham Vietnam Participates in Vietnam New Economy Forum 2026

HANOI, VIETNAM – 3 October 2026 – The Australian Chamber of Commerce in Vietnam (AusCham Vietnam), represented by Board Director David Whitehead, participated in the Vietnam New Economy Forum 2026 (VNEF 2026) in Hanoi.

Held under the theme “Breakthrough Policies & Momentum of Localities and Enterprises,” the Forum brought together senior government officials, policymakers, local authorities, diplomatic missions, international organisations, business associations, financial institutions, enterprises and economic experts to discuss how policy reforms can be translated into tangible outcomes for businesses and local economies.

The fourth annual VNEF was co-hosted by the Central Commission for Policy and Strategy, the Vietnam Economic Association and the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI), with Vietnam Economic Times/VnEconomy and relevant partners supporting its organisation.

Addressing the Forum, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Van Thang emphasised the importance of moving from policy formulation to effective implementation, removing institutional bottlenecks and ensuring that reforms deliver practical results for localities and businesses.

He highlighted three key areas for attention: improving governance and policy implementation; strengthening the role of localities and businesses while promoting regional linkages and cooperation between domestic and foreign-invested enterprises; and mobilising and allocating financial resources more effectively for Vietnam’s next growth cycle.

The Deputy Prime Minister also reaffirmed the Government’s commitment to supporting local authorities and creating favourable conditions for businesses to invest, expand production and pursue sustainable growth.

Discussions throughout the Forum reinforced the importance of narrowing the gap between policy design and implementation. Participants highlighted the need for stronger implementation capacity, more efficient use of resources and a predictable business environment to ensure that institutional reforms translate into sustainable economic growth.

AusCham Vietnam welcomes continued dialogue between government and the business community on policies affecting investment and business operations.

For Australian businesses operating in or considering Vietnam, effective implementation of reforms, regulatory clarity and a stable and transparent business environment are important foundations for long-term investment and commercial confidence.

AusCham remains committed to representing the perspectives of the Australian business community and contributing constructively to policy dialogue that supports a competitive, open and sustainable business environment in Vietnam.
