AusCham Vietnam Joins Australia–Vietnam Strategic Technologies Forum 2026
HANOI, VIETNAM – 2 October 2026 – The Australian Chamber of Commerce in Vietnam (AusCham Vietnam) participated in the Australia–Vietnam Strategic Technologies Forum 2026, held on 1–2 October at the Posts and Telecommunications Institute of Technology (PTIT) in Hanoi.
AusCham Vietnam was represented by Vice President Natalie Fairlie and Board Member David Whitehead, alongside representatives from government, academia, research institutions and industry from Australia and Vietnam.

Held under the theme “Strategic Technologies for a Resilient Future,” the Forum brought together stakeholders from both countries to discuss opportunities for deeper cooperation in strategic and emerging technologies.
The two-day program covered key areas including artificial intelligence, 5G/6G and future communications, cybersecurity, robotics, semiconductor technologies, quantum science and digital innovation. Discussions also focused on strengthening collaboration between government, universities, research institutions and industry, as well as developing high-quality talent and translating research into practical and commercial applications.

The Forum highlighted the growing role of the Australia–Vietnam Strategic Technologies Centre (AVSTC), a joint initiative involving the University of Technology Sydney (UTS), PTIT and Nokia, with support from the Governments of Australia and Vietnam. The Centre supports research collaboration, scholarships, training and industry engagement across strategic technology sectors.
AusCham Vietnam welcomes initiatives that strengthen connections between Australian and Vietnamese businesses, universities, researchers and technology partners.
As technology and innovation continue to play an increasingly important role in the Australia–Vietnam Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, stronger industry engagement will be critical to converting research, innovation and skills development into tangible commercial opportunities and broader economic outcomes.
AusCham Vietnam will continue to support engagement between the Australian and Vietnamese business communities and promote opportunities for collaboration in technology, innovation and other emerging sectors of bilateral cooperation.
