Auscham Bushfire Appeal
We are sure you are all aware of the devastating bush fires in Australia at the moment and the many people who have lost their lives and all their personal belongings.
The 2009 Victorian bushfires are a series of bushfires that were ignited across the Australian state of Victoria on 7 February 2009, resulting in Australia's highest ever loss of life from a bushfire. The fires have so far resulted in at least 181 deaths, and 100 people have been admitted to hospitals across Victoria with burns, at least 20 in a critical condition, and 9 on life support or in intensive care.
The fires have destroyed at least 1,831 homes and damaged many thousands more. Many towns north-east of Melbourne have been badly damaged or almost completely destroyed, including Kinglake, Marysville, Narbethong and Strathewen.The fires have left an estimated 7,000 people homeless.

To donate, for those of you with internet banking facility you can donate directly to either bank account, see details below. Cash donations through the ANZ Bank can be deposited directly at the ANZ Branch and/or through our AusCham Office. For donations through the Commonwealth Bank of Australia, AusCham will receive these monies through our office at 18 Thai Van Lung Street, District 1 and deposit directly to the CBA.
