VBF - Consultation Workshop on Draft VAT Law

Hanoi, 24 April 2024 - AusCham representatives attended the VBF Consultation Workshop for FDI on VAT Law.

The Value Added Tax (VAT) Law (Amended) project (hereinafter referred to as the "Draft Law") has been initiated by the Ministry of Finance and is expected to be discussed at the upcoming National Assembly’s Session in May 2024.

Value Added Tax (VAT) is among the most important tax policies with broad-reaching implications for most individuals and businesses. Given the importance of this Draft Law and the significant interest from businesses, Vietnam Business Forum (VBF) organized a workshop for in-depth discussion with a focus on FDI relevant issues.

Notable issues of the draft VAT Law that were raised during the workshop include: (i) VAT for export processing enterprises; (ii) declaration of missed invoices; (iii) VAT for services; (iv) input and output VAT for certain industries, including marble industry.
